Now, we all know that the miners' ladies are strangers to blue water; but, what about the gentlemen?
Look, I trust ol' John Denver and I see no reason to doubt the man [their pronouns] when he songed: All my memories gather 'round her, miner's lady, stranger to blue water … If a miner man is really a miner woman or back the other way around, does that affect their desire to experience the blue water? I mean do all the significant others of miners remain strangers to the blue water for life? Are there no exceptions?
Me? I'm a stranger to blue water by choice. I enjoy looking at the blue water; I enjoy listening (especially listening) to blue water, but I don't want to go out into the middle of that stuff. I don't trust it. I'm what ya call a landlubber. I don't like fish much, either. Why not? Why not? Because fish ain't meat. Don't believe me? If fish could talk and you asked one, "Hey fish?
