Now, what anyone trying to help along an inexperienced builder of narratives will tell you is this: Show Don't Tell or Don't Tell, Show. You get the idea … And that's why it's so fun to watch children noshing away on something they like. Grown-ups will tell ya all about it: mmm-mmm-mm; this is so good; wow, just wow; yummy, I needed this in me like yesterday; I need this recipe; delicious! There's just no end to it. Meanwhile the food is getting off-temp and collecting flies and developing an unappetizing film. 🤦♂️ But the kiddos won't speak because they're too busy eating — and bouncing around in their chair and grooving their necks and heads as though a funky tune is in the air and smiling ear-to-ear as they raise their (hopefully plastic) tumbler to their cake holes and squealing shoving their half-empty plate at whoever the master of ceremonies happens to be so that they can make sure to keep their helping topped up before it all disappears. And after all of these very much showy type approvals of the grub that left a surprisingly complicated mess all over the place they are likely to cut loose an enormous belch. Kinda like the Chinese
. Me? I wish all of us boring-as-dried-paint adults were a little more like Chinese kids. Of course, YYMV. Dangit Spanky, I just got a little excited about my tater soup with bread hunks to dip and some elderberry lemon salt Coke® tea — I'm not a danged lawyer and stuff!
